Throughout the ages, from time to time, religious leaders have been known to preach hatred in their houses of worship. Most often this preaching was localized and/or short lived.
At times the hatred preached caused full-blown wars. Frequently wars were fought primarily on religious grounds but still had multiple and complex causes. Some of the more famous religion related wars were the French Wars of Religion, the Reconquista and the Crusades.
The French Wars of Religion lasted from 1562 to 1598. These conflicts were fought between the Catholics and the Huguenots (Protestants.) In addition to the religious elements, there was considerable intrigue that involved a struggle for influence over land.
The Reconquest was the seven and a half century long process by which the Christian countries of modern day Portugal and Spain reconquered the
Iberian peninsula from the Muslim and Moorish states. The Crusades were a number of wars. The original goal was to support the Byzantine Empire against the Muslim expansion into Asia Minor and to recapture the Holy Land.
Saint Augustine is credited as being the first to detail a ?Just War? theory within Christianity whereby war is justifiable on religious grounds. Saint Thomas Aquinas elaborated on these criteria and his writings were used by the Roman Catholic Church to regulate the actions of European countries.
When looking at the preaching of present day religious leaders one will readily notice that there are numerous reports of Islamic clergy and imams. around the world, preaching hate. As would be expected their primary target is Israel and all the Jewish people. What may surprise some people is that they also target all infidels. An Infidel is anyone who does not believe as they do. In addition to the Jews the infidels frequently mentioned are Christians and Hindus. In June 2004 Sheikh Abd Al-Rahman Al-Sudayyis, the Saudi government appointed Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, gave a series of lectures in Canada and attended the Islamic Society of North America conference in Toronto.
Al-Sudayyis called Jews ?scum of the earth? and ?monkeys and pigs? who should be ?annihilated.? Other enemies of Islam, he said, are ?worshippers of the cross? and ?idol-worshipping Hindus? who should be fought.
In March 2005 Nicolas Sarkozy, the French interior minister, announced 12 French mosques preaching anti-western hate were under surveillance. He also said Imams indulging in inflammatory rhetoric will be expelled.
The British television aired a documentary on the Regent?s Park Mosque selling DVDs promoting hate. It also showed a preacher, Sheikh Feiz, imitating the sounds of a pig and referring to the Jewish people who will be killed on the ?day of judgment.? Another preacher, Sheikh Yassin, states that United Nations? missionaries and Christians conspired to inject the AIDS virus in inoculations in Africa.
Based on one reporter?s use of a hidden camera, in January 2007, Britain?s Channel Four presented a documentary showing Imams at Birmingham?s Green Lane mosque and others preaching radical Islamic beliefs. He found they preached Islamic supremacy, hatred of Jews and Christians, and subjugation of women. Such reports have surfaced regarding some mosques in North America.
On March 9, 2007 the New York Post reported that the Chief Clergy of New York City?s Department of Corrections, Umar Abdul-Jalil, who is also Imam of the Masjid Sabur mosque in Harlem has been placed on administrative leave. An Investigative Project on Terrorism obtained an audio tape of a 2005 Muslim Student Association conference in Arizona. The tape has Abdul-Jallil stating ?The greatest terrorists in the world occupy the White House.? He also reportedly urged Muslims in America to stop letting ?the Zionists of the media to dictate what Islam is to us.? He also said that Muslims were tortured in Manhattan prisons after the World Trade Center attacks. On January 29, 2005 The World Net Daily reported on a year long study by the Center for Religious Freedom, a Washington human-rights group. The Center concluded that the government of Saudi Arabia is disseminating propaganda through American mosques that teaches hatred of Jews and Christians. Arabia also instructs Muslims that they are on a mission behind enemy lines in a land of unbelievers.
Most Americans understand that Islamic fanatics, in the Middle East and Europe, have been preaching hate of Israel, Jews, Satan (The United States) and all Infidels (non-believers). Many Americans think the Islamists preaching hate are only over there, not here. Big time wrong!
It is hoped that this article helps alert Americans that there are Islamic fanatics in the US preaching against us. You have a choice, wait until you might need to become a Muslim or else. Or learn more, stay alert and object to hate mongering. Remember Never Again ? it is up to you.

I Think its time to wake up,Obama will hand Israel to Iran as a peace offering,The man is worst than Carter,The Dem party is not what it was since Truman.Keep IsraelAlive

"Obama will..." and sometimes hatred can be preached anonymously via the internet. Kennedy's Catholicism almost cost him the White House because small-minded people wrongly implied that he would be in the Vatican's control. It was a ludicrous argument, but it almost worked. What will they say when a Jewish candidate is nominated for Commander in Chief? Who are we kidding -- we all know what they'll say: "this person can't be trusted to act in OUR best interests. This person is JEWISH, not AMERICAN. This person cares more about Israel than America." Are the children of immigrants not considered American? Is "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses" a lie? To oppose a candidate on the issues is perfectly legitimate. But I am concerned that if we allow this strain of dialog to persist unabated within the community, we are effectively saying no Jewish man or woman could ever be president, either. Because he or she would be vulnerable to these baseless accusations, simply by virtue of being the child or grandchild of immigrants.
Prayer request for our new President
January 06, 2009
We live in a difficult times, both nationally and internationally. I am calling on people of all faiths either as indviduals or as part of their religous service to recite the following prayer for our new President A prayer for our new President One holy sprit, we give thanks that we live in a nation with free and open elections. We pray that, someday soon, the blessings of democracy and freedom will be extended to all your children. We ask now, that Your grace fall upon our new President-to-be. We pray that your Spirit be ever-present in his decisions, that Your comfort surround him in difficult times, and that he find many moments of joy as our President. We pray that his advisers give him honest and sincere advice. We pray that as all our elected leaders discuss possible paths for our country, that their discussions be without personal agenda, malice, or political opportunism. We ask that, with Your help, our nation will again prosper. And we pray that everywhere, the homeless find shelter, the hungry find sustenance, and the war-torn, peace. Finally, dear Lord, we pray that You keep President Obama and his family, and Vice-President Joe Biden and his family safe. God bless the United State of America. ----- Thank you for letting me use this forum and thank you again for your prayers.

Interesting how religion can polarize people - especially the issue of Jews who say Jesus is the Messiah. There's going to be an interesting event on July 28th at the Signature Grand in Davie. A conservative rabbi from Tamarac is going to have a dialog with a Jewish man who believes Jesus is the Messiah. There's a website called goldbrownevent.com. Should be interesting, huh?

What is even more interesting to me is the lack of scientific awareness. The fact that people spend this much time on religion is astonding to me. It is a coplex fancifull story to explain the unknown.
Democrats should remain Jewish
January 31, 2012
Jewish people should never forget their roots of struggle & oppression. Therefore, they should remain loyal Democrats and re-elect President Obama as he just reiterated in the State of the Union that the USA has an "iron-clad commitment to Israel". He attended Passover Seders each year wearing a yarmulke, plus he appointed an unprecedented 9 Jewish people to his Cabinet, and he does care deeply of the fate of Israel, as he is putting more pressure on Iran to disarm nuclear weapons. Just ask David Axelrod or Rahm Emanuel, the mayor of Chicago whose father is Israeli. President Obama is a "mensch"---a kind-hearted good man who wants fairness for all. According to Gingrich, Romney denied kosher meals to Jewish seniors in Massachusetts when he was Governor there. Yet, Gingrich is far from being an angel--having committed adultery twice! President Obama deserves to get re-elected with his vast experience! When a Jew becomes a Republican, he is a traitor for what we stand for and then he becomes arrogant, greedy and an obstructionist and forgets his Jewish roots. Many Republicans spread lies and hatred and try to get away with it. The leader of the GOP just equated President Obama with the Italian ship captain who crashed the cruise ship into rocks resulting in lives lost at sea--how disrespectful and shameful to say such a nasty remark and represent Republicans! Jewish Americans should stay Democratic---the party of the people who care about women, poor, Middle Class, minorities and all to be given a fair chance! Democrats conceived the GI Bill, Medicare & Medicaid, Social Security and all good benefits earned with hard work! Please read George McGovern's book, "What It Means To Be a Democrat."--From my mouth to God's ears!
