Holocaust Denial

Posted by Ed Ziegler on April 11th, 2007

Should anyone pay attention to April 15, 2007, Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day)? Does anyone care if there is another Holocaust similar to the 1930’s and 40’s when the Nazis government attempted to annihilate the Jewish faith? Should Yom Hashoah even be observed this year, no less every year?

It seems like more and more people are questioning if the Holocaust was as monumental as the Jewish people claim. It is also true that there are many who say that the Holocaust never occurred. It is hoped that this article will provide enough information for all, particularly Jewish people, to realize that it is time to speak out and counteract the continuous barrage of distorted propaganda by Holocaust deniers.

Since the end of World War II there have been people who denied the Holocaust. For at least two decades Middle Eastern countries have been distorting the truth and preaching, in their media, in their schools and their houses of worship, that the Holocaust is a lie. What effect do you think being bombarded for years with distortions and lies about the Holocaust would have on the adults of today and tomorrow?

On April 27, 1998 the Jordanian newspaper “Al-Arab Al-Yom” claimed, “If six million Jews had been burned, mountains of ashes would have been created, but we have never heard of this. There are no ovens that are capable of burning millions without someone noticing the smell”. A few additional media that repeatedly deny the Holocaust are The Damascus Radio, The Egyptian newspaper “Al-Akhbar”, The London Arab newspaper “Al-Quds Al-Arabi”.

There are so many Holocaust Deniers, or more politically correct” Holocaust Revisionists,” it is difficult to keep up with their claims. Many of which are ludicrous in the light of the preponderance of facts. They disregard survivor’s claims by calling them liars.

On December 14, 2006 the “the Jewish Exponent” reported that Iran hosted a two-day conference entitled “To Assess the Scale and Validity of the Holocaust”. There were attendees from 30 countries including Britain and the United States. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described the slaughter of six million Jews by the Nazis as “myth.” Some of the topics that seemed skewed were “How Counting Bodies Gets Fuzzy Past 100.” and “Famous Jews in History, Were they Jews?” And a speech by a survivor followed by hour-long questions and accusations. Attending “scholars” called for more proof on the subject.

If you utilize the Internet, look up http://judicial-inc.biz/Auschwitz.htm. This site blatantly white washes Auschwitz’s history as a death camp claming it as a Work Camp. It claims there were kitchens, medical and dental facilities and sick barracks for the prisoners. Some of the more interesting claims are that Auschwitz had s swimming pool for use by the inmates. There were walkways and comfortable benches for inmates to relax in the shade of the trees. Then there was an incentive system that rewarded inmates for extra work with coupons redeemable for cake or ice cream in the Camp Cantina. The most outrageous claim is that there was a building used during the war as a brothel for the inmates.

On March 1, 2004 “The Los Angeles Business Journal” reported that the famous actor/producer Mel Gibson’s father, Hutton Gibson, told Steve Feuerstein of “Speak Your peace” on WSNR in New York, “The Holocaust never happened, there were no concentration camps, only “work camps,” and that Jews basically made the whole thing up.” What makes people like Gibson scary is that others believe their ranting.

A Haifa University survey found that more than a quarter of Israel’s Arab citizens believe the Holocaust never happened. The poll further found the percentage actually rose to one third for college and high-school grads. This is interesting since Israel has so many survivors who are or were living proof of the atrocities of the Holocaust.

On May 16, 2006 The BBC reported that after six decades an 11-nation commission finally agreed to make available detailed Nazi Holocaust files stored in Luxembourg Germany. These records will validate what happened to 17.5 million Jews, homosexuals, mentally ill and Gypsies during the Holocaust.

I once I heard a statement “If you lie often and long enough people will start to believe you.” With the increase in “Holocaust Revisionists”, it appears, this is correct. With the average reasonable person not taking a stand against these liars why shouldn’t people believe the lies? By lack of action we are lending credibility to the lies.

The question “Should anyone pay attention to remembering the Holocaust?” The answer is “absolutely.” Not only once every year but also every day of every year lest it happen again. It is up to you, Remember Never Again. Get involved.
Learn to counter the lies.
